DRESS // CODE: Robotic 3DPrinted Fashion Lecture and Exhibition

Join NBRR in welcoming Lilach Porges as our inaugural speaker series of our Artist and Designer in Residence Program!

Lilach Porges will be presenting her work on Digital and robotic Fashion, as well as exhibiting the work she’s making at the intersection of; robotics, additive manufacturing and design.
The presentation will be from 6-630, followed by a Q&A and exhibition until 8pm, at the CVPA Star Store Building in downtown New Bedford ( 715 Purchase St, New Bedford, MA 02740).
Porges is an Israeli designer at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York in the MFA of Fashion Design program. She graduated with a BSc in Architecture and graduated from the M.Arch program at The Technion (Israel) with a major in parametric design.
Her final project in architecture included designing a building facade to be created by 3D printing with a robotic arm. Her thesis project for the program at FIT is a fashion design collection using 3D printing by robotic arms for designing and producing garments. She researches the ability of robotic arms to create more sustainable and different designs from the fashion we know today.
