The New Bedford Whaling Museum presents three exciting events around sustainability and creativity!
4:00 to 7:00PM – Center Street Gallery and Jacobs Family Gallery Balcony – Community Blooms: Katy Rodden Walker, an interdisciplinary art and science exhibition and participatory project that raises awareness about plastic pollution in our oceans and the natural phenomenon of jellyfish blooms.
4:00PM – Meet at the front entrance of the Museum – Walk & Talk: Join Sara Quintal, Senior Restoration Ecologist at Buzzards Bay Coalition, and artist Elaine Alder for a guided conversation on Johnny Cake Hill, exploring the intersection of art, science, and environmental sustainability.
4:00 to 6:00PM – Jacobs Family Gallery and it’s Balcony – UMass Dartmouth Ecology Student Showcase: senior Ecology students will present their capstone projects, focusing on emerging challenges in marine and coastal biodiversity conservation. Come engage with art, science, and sustainability at this dynamic evening of exploration and activism, celebrating our shared commitment to ocean conservation!
