Join the library’s art curator for the first annual wash and wax treatment of the historic whaleman statue outside of the library building!
Last year, the Whaleman by Bela Pratt was fully restored to its original finish, as it would have looked when is was first unveiled in 1913. In order to preserve this finish, every year the statue must be carefully washed, and a thin layer of wax applied to protect it.
We want you to join us for this process! The art curator will be answering questions, and a lucky few patrons may be invited to help!
This event is weather dependent, in the case of rain or excessive cold, the art curator will host patrons inside the art room with an exhibit of art made about the whaleman.
