The Nantucket Historical Association presents The Hunt: A Whaling Voyage 
5pm 
Mix up your favorite cocktail or mocktail and enjoy a story that has been told since the 1930s, when retired whaling captain George Grant became the first “custodian” of the Nantucket Whaling Museum and shared his first-hand whaling experiences with museum visitors. That began a long-standing tradition of telling this same story, passed down to each new generation of museum interpreters. This 2020 version of The Hunt has been updated to tell the story of a whaling voyage aboard the whaleship Edward Cary 1854-58. The 20-minute presentation will be followed by 10 minutes of Q&A and comments.

Chris Evil (aka Chris Guaraldi) 
Evil has been playing music in a number of bands in and around New Bedford for over twenty years–starting with hardcore punk band Chris Evil and the Taints, to gothic country band the Blood Moons to the post-punk/college rock (and current band) Sick Pills. 

Brian Cass 
Guitarist and music technologist, first with a Commodore 64 home computer and then a guitar a few years later. Cass has been employed by Grammy awarded artists, international software developers and world-class recording studios and is currently on the faculty at Berklee College of Music teaching courses in Electronic Production and Design. 

Scapeghost (aka Scott Bishop)
Scapeghost dips into pop songs with weird sounds, ranging from crunchy punk-pop to dreamy shoegaze to ambient landscapes.

May Is Preservation Month 

Intro to Historical New Bedford 
presented by the NB Preservation Society 
This virtual tour is conducted by the venerable Bruce Barnes and is an introduction to historical New Bedford that explores the history of whaling, the textile industry, to abolitionism through the people and architecture.

WHALE 2020 Virtual Annual Meeting

All are welcome, members and non-members, to celebrate another successful year for WHALE with new projects, staff, and board members at their first ever virtual annual meeting. Hear from Executive Director, Teri Bernert, and WHALE Board President, Andy Burnes.
