Road to Recovery

“No pride for some of us without liberation for all of us”
– Marsha P. Johnson

AHA! Pride Committee and the Queer Arts Council of New Bedford stand in solidarity with Black communities against the continued violence experienced at the hands of an unjust system and police brutality. 400 years of slavery, Jim Crow, and segregation should be reasons enough to say Black Lives Matter; economic and legal systems that perpetuate violence and trauma demand that we do more now. George Floyd, Rita Heslter, Malcolm Gracia, and Tony McDade are only some of the most recent names on the long list of stolen lives.

AHA! Pride Committee and the Queer Arts Council of New Bedford have chosen to postpone our previously planned content for June’s AHA! Pride and instead are participating in a community conversation, The Road to Recovery, hosted by 3rd EyE Youth Empowerment & The Dinner Club Podcast. The event takes place on June 11, 2020 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm.
