REFLECTIONS Exhibition Tour & Talk

New Bedford Whaling Museum, 18 Johnny Cake Hill

The photography collection at the New Bedford Whaling Museum is replete with views of and about the water, often with reflections on the water doubling images of the sun, sails, or wharves above it. As Herman Melville writes in Moby-Dick, “Yes, as every one knows, meditation and water are wedded for ever.”

Marina Dawn Wellsthe New Bedford Whaling Museum Photography Collection Curatorial Fellow, will discuss how the theme of Reflections runs throughout their exhibition of the same name. Free and open to the public.

This program is 1 of 2 scheduled at the Whaling Museum on this AHA! Night.  It will be followed by the Songs of the Sea concert in the museum’s Cook Memorial Theater at 6:30 PM (Free, registration required).
