Sacred Birthing Village

Sacred Birthing Village is a Black women-led, community-rooted ecosystem restoring the village model of care through relationship, reciprocity, and shared responsibility. SBV exists to rebuild the cultural and communal conditions where birth, family, and care are no longer carried in isolation, but held collectively through living systems of support. Rooted in ancestral wisdom, reproductive justice, maternal wellness, and communal practice, our work centers the belief that care was never meant to happen alone. Through Web of Care circles, community activations, SisterKeeping, birthworker formation, resource weaving, and maternal wellness gatherings, SBV invites women, families, and community members into a different way of practicing care, one that is relational, culturally rooted, spiritually aware, and sustainable. We are not simply providing services. We are activating care systems. Our work moves people from receiving care, to practicing care, to sustaining care together in community. By restoring shared responsibility and collective participation, SBV is building a living infrastructure of care that can be practiced, embodied, and carried forward for future generations.
